Relative change means there has been a change in comparison to a different position and point in time. For example the height of the Laryngograph waveform reflects changes in conductance of the neck tissues when measured with the vocal folds are in contact and apart during a vibratory cycle. It is useful to show changes for that singer but the absolute values i.e. the actual conductance measurement will be different for another singer as their neck tissues will be different.
